Development Diary #20: The Beginning

We made it. 2021.

I told you about the crazy and tragic year I had in 2020, but it wasn’t without good.

In August, I officially launched my small press, Emergent Realms (https://www.emergentrealms.com), and in October 2020, we launched our first book, Vile & Blessed by A H Serrano (https://www.emergentrealms.com/vb).

This is a huge accomplishment for me. It’s something I’ve been working on for several years, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work we’ve done so far.

But there’s more to do.

Here and there, I’ve told you a little about my own personal writing projects, and I’ve never been closer to delivering it to you. Like Vile & Blessed, I’ve put a tremendous about of work into making sure it’s a book I honestly believe fantasy readers should read.

I haven’t finalized the first book’s title quite yet, but I’m pretty sure I know what it is. But I have decided on a series title: The Continua Chronicles.

I also have the first book’s cover art completed. And guys… It’s breathtaking!

The manuscript itself is in the hands of two beta readers. Once I receive their comments, I’ll hand it over to my copy editor. And then it’s pretty much done.

Book 2’s outline is with my dev editor. As soon as we finish with that, I’ll start writing it. And hopefully, it’ll go much faster than the first book in the series because much of the worldbuilding and planning is already done.

This year, in addition to our talk about great stories, I’ll be giving you more information about my book leading up to its release. I hope you enjoy what I have to share with you as much as I enjoyed creating it.

So if you want to jump in and support us now, you can by grabbing Vile & Blessed on Amazon (https://bit.ly/vb1-1), grab some of our merch (https://www.emergentrealms.com/merch), and follow the small press on Facebook - Emergent Realms

Happy New Year!

I’m happy to spend it with you.
